Blake Moore was born on June 22, 1980, and raised in Ogden, Utah, where he played quarterback at Ogden High School, won the Wendy's High School Heisman in 1997 and graduated in 1998.
He enrolled at Utah State University on a football scholarship, which was rescinded after he left to serve as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Seoul, South Korea.
On his return he transferred to the University of Utah, earning a Bachelor of Arts in behavioral science and business, and he later completed a master's in public policy and administration at Northwestern University. Moore and his wife, Jane Boyer, have four sons.
Blake Moore served briefly as a U.S. Foreign Service officer in the Department of State and worked as a business consultant for the Cicero Group, a management consulting firm based in Salt Lake City. In 2017 he became one of four co-chairs of Better Boundaries, which led the ballot initiative campaign for 2018 Utah Proposition 4 establishing an independent redistricting commission.
Moore won the Republican primary for Utah's 1st congressional district in June 2020 with 31% of the vote and defeated Democrat Darren Parry with 69.5% that November. He was re-elected in 2022 and again in 2024, when he beat Democrat Bill Campbell with 63% of the vote. On November 8, 2023, he defeated six other candidates to become vice chair of the House Republican Conference, and he sits on the Ways and Means and Budget committees.
Blake Moore is the Republican nominee for Utah's 2nd congressional district, which mid-cycle redistricting has drawn across northern Utah, including Box Elder, Cache, Rich and Davis counties and most of Weber County.
The new district covers much of the area Moore represented in the 1st district before redistricting. His campaign gathered enough signatures to reach the primary ballot, where he defeated state representative Karianne Lisonbee, a critic of his past support for Proposition 4, with 56.7% of the vote.
In the general election on November 3, 2026, he faces Democrat Peter Crosby, a project manager.
