Biography & Campaign Analysis

2026 race

Chris Lancia, a law enforcement professional, is the Republican nominee in the 2026 election for Connecticut's 3rd congressional district, which lies in the south-central part of the state and includes New Haven.

The seat is held by Democrat Rosa DeLauro, who was re-elected with 58.9% of the vote in 2024 and is again her party's nominee.

Lancia secured the Republican nomination after Rafael Irizarry, the party's 2024 nominee for Connecticut's 121st House of Representatives district, was eliminated at the party convention. He faces DeLauro, the incumbent U.S. representative, in the general election on November 3, 2026.
