2026 race

Everett Jackson, a business owner, is the Republican nominee in the 2026 election for Texas's 30th congressional district, a redrawn seat anchored in southern Dallas that extends to suburbs such as Lancaster, DeSoto and Cedar Hill.

The seat is open because redistricting drew Democratic incumbent Jasmine Crockett into the 33rd district, and Crockett ultimately decided to run for the U.S. Senate.

Jackson led the four-candidate Republican primary with 38.0% of the vote and then defeated attorney Sholdon Daniels in the runoff, 57.5% to 42.5%.

In the November 3, 2026, general election Jackson faces Democrat Frederick Haynes III, a pastor and former president and CEO of Rainbow/PUSH, who won the Democratic primary with 72.6%.
