2026 race

Shawn Harris, a cattleman and retired brigadier general, is the Democratic nominee for Georgia's 14th congressional district, which is based in the northwest corner of the state. He was also the party's nominee for the district in 2024.

The seat became vacant when Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene resigned on January 5, 2026, and district attorney Clay Fuller won the special election in a runoff to serve the remainder of the term.

Harris ran unopposed in the 2026 Democratic primary and received 43,067 votes, after GIS contractor Clarence Blalock withdrew and endorsed him. He faces Fuller, who won the Republican primary with 81.3% of the vote, in the general election on November 3, 2026.
