2026 race

Tom Sell, a businessman, is the Republican nominee in the 2026 election for Texas's 19th congressional district, which covers much of West Texas, including Lubbock, Abilene and Big Spring.

The seat is open because Republican incumbent Jodey Arrington, who was re-elected with 80.7% of the vote in 2024, declined to seek a sixth term. Sell led a seven-candidate Republican primary with 40.4% of the vote and then won the runoff against outreach group founder Abraham Enriquez with 64.3%.

In the general election on November 3, 2026, Sell faces Democrat Kyle Rable, the secretary of the Lubbock County Democratic Party.
