2026 race

Kyle Rable, the secretary of the Lubbock County Democratic Party, is the Democratic nominee in the 2026 election for Texas's 19th congressional district, which covers much of West Texas, including Lubbock, Abilene and Big Spring.

The seat is open because Republican incumbent Jodey Arrington, who was re-elected with 80.7% of the vote in 2024, declined to seek a sixth term. Rable was unopposed in the Democratic primary, receiving 22,513 votes.

In the general election on November 3, 2026, Rable faces Republican Tom Sell, a businessman who won the Republican nomination in a runoff against outreach group founder Abraham Enriquez with 64.3% of the vote.
