2026 race

Blake Gendebien, a dairy farmer who was the Democratic nominee in the canceled 2025 special election for New York's 21st congressional district, is again his party's nominee for the seat in 2026.

The district, based in the North Country and the Adirondack Mountains, is open because Republican incumbent Elise Stefanik declined to seek re-election. Gendebien won the Democratic primary with 64.6% of the vote against restaurant owner Stuart Amoriell.

In the general election on November 3, 2026, he faces Republican businessman Anthony Constantino, who defeated state assemblymember Robert Smullen in the Republican primary and also holds the Taxpayer Rights line.
