2026 race

Jace Yarbrough, an attorney who ran for Texas's 30th Senate district in 2024, is the Republican nominee in the 2026 election for Texas's 32nd congressional district.

The seat is open because redistricting drew Democratic incumbent Julie Johnson out of the district, and Johnson ultimately decided to seek re-election in the 33rd district.

The new 32nd covers suburbs north and northeast of Dallas, including Richardson, Addison and Rockwall County, and stretches east to Mineola and Gilmer.

Yarbrough led a nine-candidate Republican primary with 49.0% of the vote and became the nominee when runner-up Ryan Binkley, a pastor and 2024 presidential candidate, withdrew before the runoff.

In the November 3, 2026, general election Yarbrough faces Democrat Dan Barrios, a Richardson city councilor.
