Biography & Campaign Analysis

2026 race

Jennifer Davis, the founder of a service technology company, is the Republican nominee in the 2026 election for Illinois's 8th congressional district, based in Chicago's western outer suburbs, including Elgin, Schaumburg and Des Plaines.

The seat is open because Democratic incumbent Raja Krishnamoorthi, re-elected with 57.1% of the vote in 2024, ran unsuccessfully for the U.S. Senate. Davis won the Republican primary with 51.4% of the vote, ahead of investor Mark Rice, the party's 2024 nominee for the district, who took 40.2%.

In the general election on November 3, 2026, Davis faces Democrat Melissa Bean, a former U.S. representative who served from 2005 to 2011 and won an eight-candidate Democratic primary with 31.6%.
