2026 race

Niki Conforti, an energy consultant, is the Republican nominee in the 2026 election for Illinois's 6th congressional district, a rematch of the 2024 race. Conforti was the party's nominee for the district in 2024 and also ran for the seat in 2022.

The district is based in the southwest Chicago suburbs, including Oak Lawn and Downers Grove, and parts of the eastern DuPage County suburbs. In the Republican primary Conforti won 82.2% of the vote against political activist Skylar Duensing.

In the general election on November 3, 2026, Conforti again faces the Democratic incumbent, Sean Casten, who was re-elected with 54.2% of the vote in 2024 and won 75.8% in the Democratic primary.
