No story this week names this candidate.
Michael Noack, a truck driver, is the Republican nominee for Illinois's 2nd congressional district, which includes the far southeast portion of Chicago, part of its southern suburbs and areas along the Indiana border.
The seat is open because Democratic incumbent Robin Kelly retired from the House to run unsuccessfully for the U.S. Senate. Noack ran unopposed in the Republican primary and received 20,598 votes.
His Democratic opponent is Cook County commissioner Donna Miller, who won a ten-candidate primary with 40.4% of the vote, defeating former U.S. representative Jesse Jackson Jr. and state senator Robert Peters. The general election takes place on November 3, 2026.
