Peter Coe Verbica, a financial planner, is the Republican candidate in the 2026 election for California's 19th congressional district. The seat is held by Democrat Jimmy Panetta, who was re-elected in 2024 with 69.3% of the vote.
In the top-two primary, Verbica finished second with 44,590 votes, or 20.47%, behind Panetta's 58.43%, and ahead of Democratic software engineer Sean Dougherty and fellow Republican Tuka Gafari, a businessman.
Libertarian Lars Mapstead and Ana Luz Acevedo-Cabrera and Thomas Coxe, both with no party preference, were also eliminated. Verbica faces Panetta in the general election on November 3, 2026.
